Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data RustCommander collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the marketing website, dashboard portal, API, and RustCommander plugin workflows. RustCommander is an independent tool not affiliated with Facepunch Studios or RustMaps.

1. Data We Collect

We do not currently collect advertising data or third-party analytics cookies.

2. How We Use Your Data

To authenticate you and provide access to the dashboard.
To connect to your Rust server via RCON and sync requested data.
To cache server data (players, maps, plugins) so repeated operations are faster.
To display your server's information within your account scope only.
To process subscriptions, licenses, invoices, and team invitations.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes. Server data is scoped to your account and is not visible to other users.

3. Data Storage

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database. RCON credentials, API keys, and Discord bot tokens are stored encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. Access to the database is restricted to the RustCommander application and its administrators.

4. Third-Party Services

When you use RustMaps features, map generation requests are sent directly to the RustMaps API using the RustMaps access you provide. Your RustMaps API key, license, usage limits, billing, availability, and map output are governed by RustMaps' own privacy policy. RustCommander is not affiliated with RustMaps and only stores the API response (map data, URLs) to avoid redundant API calls inside the panel.

Stripe processes checkout and payment information. Resend may process transactional emails such as team invitations or account notices.

If you configure the optional Discord status bot, your bot token is stored encrypted and used solely to maintain a persistent connection to the Discord Gateway on your behalf, in order to display a live player count as the bot's presence status. Bot presence data is sent to Discord's API and is subject to Discord's Privacy Policy. RustCommander does not read messages, guild members, or any other Discord data beyond what is needed to maintain the Gateway connection and update the presence status.

5. Cookies and Browser Storage

RustCommander uses necessary cookies and browser storage for authentication, payment checkout state, and cookie preferences. Cookie consent is stored in rustcommander_cookie_consent and shared across the landing website and portal using the .rustcommander.app domain where available. See the Cookie Policy for details.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us through the Discord community and we will process the request within 30 days.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including password hashing, encrypted storage of sensitive credentials, and server-scoped data isolation. However, no system is completely secure. Use a strong, unique password and keep your RCON credentials confidential.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, reach us via the RustCommander Discord.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
